Illustrator, Designer | Voghera (Pv), Italy

Tell us about your background?
My passion for art and painting in particular started when i was a child. My father himself was a painter and fashinated me with his stunning and colorful pieces.
I’ve always made hand drawn pencil and china-ink illustrations and been particularly fond of human figure in my works.

Have you had artistic studies and was it useful for you?
No i haven’t, i’m a self taught.

How would you explain your style of illustration?
My work has a huge hyper-realistic and fashion influence; chiefly I like to focus the human nature in each of my illustrations. My influences start from classical masters such as Caravaggio and Botticelli as I’ve always been fashinated by the Renaissance age and all the art of that period, but I love most of the portrait painters of the last century as well.

What programs do you use to create your illustrations?
I originally play with the pencil and start putting on paper what goes on my mind.
Then I use exclusively Flash.

What are your creation processes?
I mainly start sketching on paper the simple idea for the illustration. I digitise the design acquiring it with the scanner then, working in Flash, I begin drawing it in a vector format.

Thanks Giulia Balladore for having taken her time to make this interview with us
