Tell us a little bit about your background?
I graduated in 99 from a graphic design school in both graphic design and industrial design. Since ive worked for 2 web design agencies and ive worked at FCI for 2 years as their internal new media designer, in those 2 years at FCI i started renascent as a creative outlet that would later become my own company in november of 2002. Now working as a freelancer making visual static and motion imagery for different media.
Why do you chose the word Renascent as the title for your personal site?
Renascent means coming into being, a progress of growth. It basically comes down to how i see myself constantly pushing to progress in what i do and love.
You are graduated from graphic design school, do you think it is necessary to be a good designer?
I think its important that one knows the basics in design, what it means and how to approach different situations for different projects. It is important to understand the fundamentals of design.
How is your creative process?
Its always different, sometimes its just experimenting and pushing the software… other times its starting on a well thoughtout idea… Its hard for me to nail it down in a few lines.
You are working for himself as a freelancer, which the advantage to work in this way?
Well you can manage your own time, you arent pushed around by your boss, etc… it has allot of advantages and allot of disadvantages as well… as long as you can pay the bills at the end of the month youre doing ok, i guess :)
You are based in the Netherlands, but you work all over the world. How did you start to work outside of the Netherlands?
Ive had publications in magazines that were international, but basically having on online pressence makes you open to an international audience.
What are you doing at the moment?
Im currently in NYC freelancing on motion work.
Do you know any brazilian graphic designers?
I know a few, like hungryfordesign, lobo and combustion who does sound design for me.
I read that you love playing games. what are you playing now?
Need for Speed Underground is currently spinning in my ps2 :)
What are your plans for the future?
Do music video’s, maybe film titles… as long as i can be artistic really :)

Savio Fonseca is a Art Director and illustrator, currently living and working in São Paulo at Wunderman.
I really have a couple of styles of working, my highly rendered work is more influenced by traditional fine art, then theres a more commercial side that is favoured by the editorial, publishing, fashion market.
I got involved with illustration four years ago. I’m self-taught, I have no degree (or anything close to it), nor any professional training.
I try to do whimsical and abstract drawings. I think my style is a mish mash of the ways that effort ends up coming across.
Jake Brewer is a South African designer & illustrator currently based in London.
I graduated in 2007 and I´ve been working with graphic and motion design since then.
I’m 24 years old. I was born in Santos, a small city in the coast of Brazil. I studied Multimidia Design at SENAC.
I took the Advertisement course at a University in Bauru. At my first year I started to understand what it was and to have a giant will to work for a agency.

My name is Emma Geary aka Anarkitty. I am 30 years old and I live just outside of Belfast Northern Ireland. I have loved drawing since I was pretty young. Went to University and did a Ba(Hons) Degree in Art and design specialising in New Media.
