Hello Will! Could you describe yourself in a few words and tell us how you started drawing?
Describle myself in a few words? hummm kinda hard this question… Theres a lot of words that can describe me! I will say those that best represents me right now! “BUSY” and “RESTLESS” :)!
I started drawing just for fun, as most kids do! Then i decided to follow this as a profession! I feel happy and lucky that my decision came up to be the right one! I cant see myself as a Lawyer or a Engineer.
We can see in your works that you have your own style. Is there any other(s) artist(s) that inspires you?
There are many artists that inspires me! Just to say a few of them, James Jean, João Ruas, Audrey Kawasaky, Marguerite Sauvage, Jason Chan, Alessandro Barbucci, Alphonse Mucha…
Tell us about your process to draw and paint. what do you have in your workstation?
My workstation consists in Pencils, Watercolor, Brushes, Papers, an Imac and a Wacom Intuos 3. Those are the itens i use the most!
I usually sketch everything on tradicional ways…using inks and pencils! Then when i am happy with the image, i scan everything in high resolution and paint it on Corel Painter or Adobe Photoshop.

What part in the work process is the most difficult?
In my opinion, the conception of an idea.To think about composition, color pallete, lights, shades, elements..For me this is the hardest part of the process because is when i decide how my image will look like in the end.
In which point do you think technology can help an artist?
Today is possible to send an entire 22-pages-COMIC BOOK through FTP server to the other side of the ocean, Make business contact using the world wide web or instant messages, have great fidelity of tradicional artistic material with modern softwares and hardwares…and many other things!
We talk a lot about “work”, but what do you like to do when you are not working? What inspires you and what do you do that make you feel better and ready to work more? (ok, talking about work again)
Well, I just love to Skateboard,( Unfortunately i twisted my ankle a few months ago, and i stood away from the board since then. So so sad because recently a skatepark was built next to my house) Hang out with my girfriend and friends to drink and have some fun, play Texas Hold’em Poker and Paint (yes, i do it for fun as well!). I wish i could travel more! maybe next year….

Do you intend to stay living in Brazil?
I just love this country! Yes! I wanna live here for a long time!
We can see that you draw a lot of women. Why?
I like it because it is aways a challenge to me. I try to use less photo reference as possible, so every girl i have painted is unique. Make it beautiful in the right tune is a very nice process that i enjoy since the very first sketch.
Which draw was the most difficult to do?
I guess was the “Subway” due to the variety of characters on the composition and the level of details i wanted to give to the piece. “Rock Show” as a very hard one too. Another one was “Valentine”. The building on the scene was drawn using pencils and papers then painted on Photoshop…spent some fun hours on it!

Do you keep your sketches or throw them away?
I like to keep my sketches! There are lots of boxes with tons of sketches here! But sometimes, due to space issues i have to throw them away…
Do you have plans for the future? Like opening your own studio?
Yes i do!
This is the 13th question. Do you have any superstition?
I am not a supersticious person.

We can see in your site that you like mcdonalds burgers. And what do you like to drink (at work or not)?
I just love strawberry Caipirinha with Vodca or Cachaça. Malibu and Coke is nice too!
What would you tell for those who are starting in this area?
Work hard, and dont give up! And dont believe the FILTERS! If it is easy for you to use, is easy for everyone else!
Any advice for the end?
Work less, live more!
